Terrazzo Flooring

We are one of Ireland’s oldest and most experienced Terrazzo & polished concrete flooring specialists. We have completed both commercial and residential projects throughout Ireland, winning prestigious contracts to install polished concrete at the new Giants Causeway Visitors Centre on the north coast & Malahide Castle Shopping Complex in Co. Dublin.

We have installed Terrazzo in the National Art gallery in Dublin, the MAC Theatre, Belfast and we are proud to say that we were featured in the Grand Designs TV series ‘House of the year’.

The history of terrazzo dates back over five hundred years, Terrazzo (Italian for “Terrace”) floors were invented in Venice during the 15th century. Traditionally, Terrazzo is poured on site and is comprised of marble chips embedded into a cement base & is mechanically polished to a high-shine. Modern trends in Terrazzo now include the use of other aggregates such as coloured recycled glass, mirrored glass as well as natural aggregates such as mother of pearl.

Terrazzo is a permanent flooring solution that can be customised to suit any desired look, as the client you will have the ability to design and spec your floor choosing the aggregate from almost any colour you can imagine, which makes for a myriad of design possibilities. Terrazzo is a superior alternative to a tile floor because it is durable, hard wearing and will almost certainly never need replacement, even when located in high-traffic areas.

Maintenance of the product is minimal along with cleaning because there are no grout joints to clean or crevasses that trap dirt. Terrazzo is such a versatile material that it can also be formed into kitchen worktops, bathroom vanity tops, staircases & even skimmed onto walls to create a seamless waterproof bathroom option. A Terrazzo floor will be a unique & beautiful feature to your home.
